An exciting Swedish brand, Tinitell, is entering the European market with a wearable mobile phone and GPS tracker for kids. Extremely simple, fun and durable, Tinitell is the best option for parents and children looking for a way to stay connected without limiting their children’s freedom to explore the outside world.

When we talk about technology, we say how smartphones, tablets, video games and other devices reduce kids’ time playing outdoors. Most parents prefer to have their children spend time running and playing outside, exploring the outdoors, like when they were kids.

Tinitell is a piece of technology that actually enables kids to play outside more, as it makes it significantly easier for parents to stay in touch with them. With Tinitell children can make and receive calls in a simple and secure way. The smart location feature allows parents to safely locate them on a map thanks to Tinitell’s smartphone app.

Simplicity is the key and Tinitell is operated through the click of a button. Just press the big button to initiate a call. You can scroll through up to 12 numbers by pressing the + / – buttons. Tinitell contacts are saved in the device through the Tinitell smartphone app.

“Keeping the Tinitell as simple and durable as possible were key factors during the design process, and not having a screen was quite clear from the beginning. We wanted to make it an outdoor phone for outdoor kids. The possibility of it breaking and making it inoperable simply wasn’t an option. Tinitell straps around the wrist, like a watch – we actually call it a wristphone. Kids can keep their hands and minds free to play, skate, bike, run and climb. It is more fun to fully explore the real environment, and not the virtual one offered by a screen.” – Mats Horn, CEO Tinitell.

For Tinitell, the visual interaction is replaced by a more personal voice guidance, essential during outdoor activities. Instead of some numbers on a screen, Tinitell has voice labels for each contact, recorded by parents and kids. Moreover, Tinitell has its own voice in communicating essential messages, in a way, making it more of a friend than a device.

Parents manage it from a smartphone app, from where they also can locate Tinitell. The app is Tinitell’s command center. You can see how active your kid is, you can manage your contacts, set who can make calls and how. Tinitell is compatible with both Android and iPhone smartphones.

The design is created by a team of young Scandinavian industrial designers, and is made to appeal to kids from an early preschool age up to active preteens seeking a basic wearable for rugged outdoor activities.

As rough treatment is unavoidable when playing in the wild, the device is made of durable materials and resists water and dirt, it is water splash resistant (IPx4), but not recommended  for swimming.

With Tinitell your kids are free to play, explore and discover the world, while parents have the comfort of being connected to them wherever they are.
